Correct a lead incorrectly categorized as commercial instead of residential

If a lead was accidentally tagged as Commercial Real Estate (CRE) when it's actually residential, you can easily fix it by updating the lead record in your CRM.

Update the lead category

  1. Open the lead record in the CRM.
  2. Scroll down to the Opportunities section.
  3. Check the lead’s categories. If it's been mistakenly assigned to both CRE and Residential, you’ll see both listed.
  4. Find the incorrect category (e.g., CRE Business) under Opportunities and click to delete it.
  5. Make sure only the correct category (e.g., Residential) remains.

Reminder: Use the Lead Disposition - Residential field for residential properties. Use Lead Disposition - CRE only for commercial properties. Assigning the wrong field can place the lead in the wrong pipeline.
